So here we all are, 3 more working days, 3 more days at the water park, 3 more days scanning the pool. So it's high time for a farewell gathering...special thanks to Fay and Deepan for doing most of the planning and execution
And of all days to schedule my course registration, NTU has to put it on the same day as my BBQ. Had to run in and out to meet both responsibilities...but on the overall, course reg was pretty much successful.
Not everyone was here, but it was still a pretty good turn up. Was kind of disappointed that not all the Stringrays (Justin, Chris, Dylan, Craig, Sarah, CC etc) showed up
My supervisor, Nick and me! Wonderful guy. Will always rmb how he always comes over to the stand, pass me my bottle, spray water on my feet and my back. MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
With Nick, Mario and Fay
Home-made cupcakes by Jackson (I think)...My list of to-bake is getting longer...pancakes, peanut butter
And of course, we need to feed our dear camerawoman...wouldn't want her to go scavenging for food during important moments that require her and her cam
And the Americans have their own version of "Tau Pok"
With Danny, we went through the same lifeguard training. Notice how tall he is...and he's 19. 真是一山比一山高
With Jillian, our heroine of the day for blowing a spinal earlier in the day. I've never ever heard a 3 long whistle blow before!!! She's the girl!
And of course, with Mario, my gay buddy
Was supposed to be like a Stingray-only shot...but there are 2 other unknown sea creatures on the left
And what better way to end off the night with the Lifeguard's signature dance, Cupid Shuffle
That's the sad thing abt trying to take pictures...u are missing from those pictures. Have to wait for Facebook uploads for pictures of me doing the cupid shuffle
Not forgetting the present from Nick. It is the oldest brewery in America. Means a lot of me...will bring it back to Singapore!!!
Without realising, the end has crept up upon me (actually was already in anticipation of it already...just wanted to sound melodramatic and poetic)
Mark the conflicted soul (I wan both Virginia and Singapore...sadly, i can't have the best of both worlds)
PS: But really, David Tennant's "I dun wanna go" and regeneration scene in Doctor Who keeps replaying in my mind. I dun wanna go as well!!! and this feels exactly like a regeneration. Using The Doctor's own words, Once I'm back in Singapore, it's like the me and everything that happened in Virginia is gone and some new man goes sauntering away and I'm dead.
Found nice videos of it on youtube
He didn't wan to go, so do I
But i was watching it and the 11th Doctor came on screen...if David Tennant did not regenerate, We would not have Matt Smith as the next Doctor. Some divine intervention trying to tell me something?
Some new man goes sauntering away...
LOL, this is becoming like a 10th Doctor tribute
