CONFRONTATION!!!

Haha...nothing much, just had a run in with one of the guest. I told her that her kid was too short for the ride...apparently, her kid went on the ride before and there was a band on her wrist which says that she's above 48 inches...BUT, someone obviously made a mistake since she was shorter than my minimum height.

So just the usual dispute. It felt like a Singaporean complaining, with the usual: "I want to see ur area supervisor" and blah blah blah. Eventually, I relented...actually i don't even have to check her, since she was already checked before, just thought i should be more careful and meticulous. But in the end, i was thinking like...If the parent is willing to risk the safety of their own child, who am i, as a lifeguard, to stop them? I mean...if they were going to throw their kid of the building, even after i told them not to, there's nothing i can do (actually i can stop them, but u get the meaning...parents rank way higher than lifeguard)...so down they went.

Anyway, the honeymooning period is officially over. Now it's really straight into work everyday. I was walking back and thinking if i'm regretting it...like 8 hrs in the sun, tedious job, coping with unreasonable guests and little brats and being so damn exhausted at the end of the day. Then i rmbed something i've said before when someone asked me abt the trip...To truly experience culture, I do not believe in 5 star hotels, international buffet, places of attraction. You really have to be one of them, work with them, act like them, eat like them to truly understand and immerse in culture. As a tourist, every country will offer something similar, the best they have. So real cultural exchange means greater interaction with the locals and visiting their slums and the dirt they would like to hide from others.

So i mean, things like quarreling with an American, interacting with a supervisor that is younger than u, serving guests and requiring to drive like half an hr just to get anything would form part of the cultural exchange. Of course, i do intend to travel around...hopefully can visit Washington DC next week:)

This 2 pieces of chicken feet are actually my feet...can see that white line across it. I think it's skin flaking off...and do they look a little swollen?

The bottom...i'm seeing black marks...wonder if it's chao ta and worst of all, the hated BLISTERS, making every step a living hell:(((
Can see that white line diagonally across? I took a walk in my slippers and the strap left that mark on me...

This is just after 2 days of work...must tell myself that this is all part of learning...must chiong a bit then can learn

Slightly more than a month to go:(((

Mark and his poor little feet (they dun look as small and dainty like they used to be)

PS: This is going to last me for the next 2 weeks. No need to go around dorms begging for food!
