But first, let's start with something interesting. There's the lifeguard mass dance in the amusement park...and. we are suppose to dance when the music comes on. It came on...and i had to dance. Can anyone imagine me dancing...it's like one of those JC's mass dance. So all the lifeguards not on duty went over to the middle of the park and start to shake their bum bum (me included).Got the guest to join in and most of them were very sporting. I admit it was pretty fun, with all the lifeguards dancing in the park and the guests joining in. I really dun think i will dare do this in Singapore...and Singaporeans aren't that sporting as well.
So on to the topic...conflict! Woke up this morning and heard that there were many run ins with the other aliens as well as employees and guests
There was a Singaporean girl who quarreled with her Jamaican roommate over spilled syrup on shoes, another girl got a racist guests so she closed the ride and told the guests that it was under maintenance. The only problem i have with my roommate is over the temperature and them coming back so late.
And there was a big incident. Apparently, one girl ate some leftover and was terminated for theft. This brings me to the next topic, welfare. There is seriously very little welfare here. People in F&B are not allowed to scrap for leftovers. They have not even tested their own food yet. And i know some of them dun even have lunch hour...so it's like 9am to 10pm without food. And they are terminating people for eating leftovers! If u want to know, i have a 30min lunch break only...so must pack my own food.
Another friend of mine had an allergic reaction due to work and went to first aid...apparently he has to pay for his medicine and they dun even have a proper doctor there. Isn't the company suppose to be responsible for an employee if he's injured during work.
Yar, so this is like wat i learn in HP804, coping with cultural transition. First is the euphoria stage, then now i'm in the hostile stage with all the conflicts and complain. Maybe i'll reach the acceptance stage soon
