Everyday low prices...let's put it to the test

The first day here was pretty uneventful...sat through a 4hr lecture on the Dos and Don'ts, applying for social security, tax rebates, bank accounts amongst many other little administrative matters. Went around the employees area in the theme park and had tea at the employees' cafeteria. We came to one conclusion during the meal...we really need to get our own meals. Not that the meal is bad, but it's pure sinful and not very gratifying...i'll rather go for SAF cookhouse.

And the highlight of the day is the trip to Walmart. Have read all abt Walmart's promises of lowest prices everyday, being the epitome of operational efficiency and being the leader of all Supermarts.

Woohoo...on the company's bus to Walmart...the bus quite chui, no aircon

Walmart...smaller than expected

Definitely need a closeup of the logo

The internal layout in Walmart...it actually resembles Tesco in Malaysia

Mark the Ah Soh doing his shopping...guess how much these cost?

So conclusion, does Walmart live up to its reputation and promises "Everyday low prices". I would have to say "YES". I was expecting all these items to cross over $100USD...but it eventually cost less than $90. Bought a lot of stuff like pillow, bed sheets, blankets, milk, cereal, juice, fruits, bread and utensils etc to last 2 persons for hopefully 2 weeks.

Will be officially starting work on Wednesday afternoon, so i have tmr free to try all the rides...time to go crazy!!!

PS: Got a job as a lifeguard...guess i really do have an affinity with water. But the weather here is terrible, hotter than Singapore. I'm gonna look like Justice Bao when i return to Singapore
